2019 STUDENT LEADERS

Student Leaders are self nominated and attend an interview with a panel of representatives made up of; the Principal, Grade 5/6 teacher, Kirsty (Student Leaders Coordinator) and our current Student Leaders.  Each candidate must prepare a written speech and is asked questions to determine their ability to perform as a School Captain, Junior School Councillor or House Captain.

Our Student Leaders participate in the 'Young Leaders Program', organised and implemented by Sharon Blackwell.  This is an opportunity for our students to meet with leaders from other schools and participate in activities to extend their leadership skills.

The role of the School Captains, Junior School Councillors and House Captains includes:
-  Providing a Student Voice
-  Act as role models within BPS
-  Raising Awareness of Social Issues through Fundraising
-  Representing BPS at community events, such as Anzac Day Services.

Our Student Leaders gain skills including:
-  Leadership
-  Team Work
-  Public Speaking
